SCHOLARSHIPS & INVITE PROGRAMS

Overview

Dupree Dance awards a large number of scholarships and specialty awards at each event. All Dupree scholarships must be redeemed within 12 months from the date awarded. After this time, they will automatically expire in our system.

Our Half, Full, National Finals and Collective convention scholarships are tracked on a registrant’s behalf by Dupree Dance. They are connected to the dancer’s name and profile used to register for the event in which the scholarship was awarded. Registrants MUST use the same username (email address) on future registrations and add a scholarship winner’s name from their stored student’s roster in order for our system to recognize/redeem the available convention scholarship won by a dancer at a past Dupree Dance event.

Our Half, Full, National Finals and Regional Collective convention scholarships as well as Crew Award are non-transferable and non-deferrable. They are assigned solely to the named dancer who receives the award.

Online Scholarship Redemption Information

In order to redeem a Half, Full, National Finals or Collective Scholarship award, a registrant must access the stored students in their online dropdown menu to add dancers to their convention registration roster. Our system will recognize the winners name and prompt the registrant to apply their available scholarship award. Once applied, our system will adjust the convention fees accordingly.

If a dancer who won a scholarship under a studio would like to attend any regional Dupree Dance convention on his/her own, they are welcome to do so. In this event, the studio may choose to register them under their studio profile, or the dancer may contact us and we will move their scholarship from the studio profile to an independent profile that allows them to register themselves for convention classes only. If a dancer receives a scholarship at an event where they were independently registered, we will also be happy to move that scholarship under a studio profile per request of the scholarship winner. Keep in mind that all dancers must be studio registered in order to compete.

May 1 Participation Deadline for Invite Programs

In order to confirm a dancer’s participation in our Crew, Opening Number or Collective programs at our National Finals event, we ask that the same account in which the  dancer won their regional award(s) access their online profile INVITES tab by/before May 1.  Simply select the “Accept Invite” button next to the winner’s name and proceed with entering the personal (parent) email address of the awarded dancer. This step is REQUIRED for participation and will enable both the studio email as well as the personal (parent) email of the winner to receive the correct program specific information prior to our Nationals event.

The ability to formally accept an Invite to participate will expire after May 1. Requests to participate after the May 1 deadline must email Dupree@DupreeDance.com and are not guaranteed.

An ‘Accept Invite’ status update is NOT considered registration for our National Finals event.  It is simply a way we communicate with both the studio and attending dancer participants about their invite program and how we finalize our participant’s roster. All attendees must also be formally registered  by/before the stated registration deadline for our Nationals event in order for them to be permitted to participate in their selected invite program(s).

If an Invite opportunity is not accepted for a dancer by/before the requested May 1 participation deadline, please reach out to Dupree@DupreeDance.com about the status of late inquiries.  All decisions made after May 1 to grant late participation in any invite program will be made pending our program registration status at that time.

NOTE: If a single dancer is the recipient of two invite programs (example: Crew and Opening Number OR Crew and Collective), the studio account must “Accept Invite” and enter the personal (parent) under BOTH Invites areas to ensure they receive information and are included in the roster for each program.
